What will you make?

You will learn how to make a hand make a ceramic tobacco H2O pipe using the potters wheel.  This is a two session experience.  During the initial class, you will start by throwing your H2O pipe using the potters wheel and then hand-build and attach parts to complete the form.  You will leave your pottery with us for drying and bisque firing.  After bisque firing, you will return to the studio to add color using art glazes.  Your project will be fired a second time to create a glassy, ceramic finish.

What is the cost?

Cost is $105 per maker and includes instruction, clay, bisque firing, glaze and glaze firing.

What to Expect

In these sessions, you and your guests get to roll up you sleeves and get your hands messy with clay while your artist-instructor guides you through the steps of making handmade pottery. You’ll create your pottery at a workbench or on the pottery wheel, depending on which experience you book.  Classes are about two hours and are BYOB for 21 and up.

Smashed Clay projects and experiences are designed using our proprietary method, techniques and tools to help jumpstart your project.  However, it takes years to learn the art of handmade pottery. While we hope your finished project turns out exactly as you envisioned, there is no guarantee that your handmade pottery will make it through the entire process and/or result in what you set out to make.

Thick pottery may take longer to dry. Pottery that is too thick, too thin or constructed in a manner that creates stress during the drying or firing process may crack, break or explode.  Pottery can take 2-3+ weeks to dry, prepare and bisque fire.
