Terms for Restricted Services, Products & Experiences

Age Requirements

We offer services, products and experiences intended for a mature audience. None of the Restricted Services, Products or Experiences are directed at children. You must be at least the age of twenty-one (21), and fully able and competent to enter into and abide by the terms and conditions of the Terms, in order to access and use these Services. Individuals under the age of twenty-one (21) are not eligible to use the Sites or the Restricted Services and may not submit any personal information to us. By accessing or using the Restricted Services, Products or Experiences, or by clicking to accept the Terms when this option is made available to you, you represent and warrant that you are at least the age of twenty-one (21), are legally entitled to enter into the Terms, are legally able to enter into any and all purchase agreements with us and our partners, vendors, agents, and service providers, and have the right, authority and capacity to enter into and abide by the terms and conditions of the Terms.

Experience Refunds & Cancellation Policy

Pottery Pick Up Policy

We allow 3 weeks to pick up your pottery after the initial firing and/or the glaze firing.  If you cannot return to pick up your pottery within the 3 week window, you can request shipping or an in-studio hold during the 3 week window.  Due to limited space in our studio, we cannot keep pottery after the 3 week window has passed; we do not offer refunds if you miss the pick up window.  Please monitor the status of your pottery at smashedclay.com/status.

Cancellation Policy

Our studios have limited seating, so when you book an experience at Smashed, we hold the seat for you.  We are a small business and depend on full classes to operate.  We are unable to fill seats when customers cancel with short notice or don’t show up.  For that reason, we cannot provide refunds if you do not show up or for appointments cancelled within 24 hours of your booked appointment.

If you have already registered for one of our classes, experiences or workshops, and you are no longer able to attend, our cancellation policy is as follows:

  • Full refund if cancelled up to 24 hours in advance of your booked experience.
  • No refunds if cancelled within 24 hours of your booked experience or if you do not show up.  If cancelled within 24 hours of your booked experience, a store credit may be issued at the store’s discretion.
  • In lieu of cancelling your appointment, you may transfer your appointment to another person.
  • If you would like to cancel your appointment or transfer it to someone else, please use the link you received in your email confirmation or text 832-263-5097.
  • If, for any reason, the studio must cancel a workshop, you will be issued a full refund for your booking.

 

Late Arrival Policy

Because our classes are group classes, you must arrive on time to fully participate in the experience.  If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we will be unable to integrate you into the class.  Our late arrival policy is as follows:

If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, you can either:

  • Join the class at the midway point.  You acknowledge that your time will be limited to the remaining class time.  If you are participating in a couples challenge, you will only be able to make one project.  No refunds will be given.
  • Reschedule for another time when seats are available.  No refunds will be given.

 

Experience Refund Policy

Smashed Clay projects and experiences are designed using common pottery techniques and supplies, however it takes years to learn the art of handmade pottery and there are a lot of things that can go wrong – even for professional potters.  For that reason, the studio does not provide refunds for experiences.

While we hope your finished project turns out exactly as you envisioned, there is no guarantee that your handmade pottery will make it through the entire process and/or result in what you set out to make.  Thick pottery may take longer to dry.  Pottery that is too thick, too thin or constructed in a manner that creates stress during the drying or firing process may crack, break or explode. 

The process of drying and firing pottery can be unpredictable and the timing can be impacted by factors such construction of the pottery, humidity and ambient temperatures.  While we target to complete the process in two weeks, there is no guarantee on how long it takes to fire your pottery and have it ready for pick up.

Product Shipping, Returns and Exchanges

Free Ground Shipping
We offer free ground shipping on orders of $150 or more to the continental United States (excluding Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories). Our freight carriers prevent us from shipping to US P.O Boxes. Free shipping terms subject to change, and may not apply to all products.  Free shipping/return shipping, when applicable, is for domestic purchases only.

Product Returns

To initiate an online return or exchange, please contact us at [email protected] or (832) 263-5097. For domestic orders, we will provide a prepaid return label for your items. You have 10 calendar days from the day you receive the return label (via email) to send your items back. We will initiate a refund, exchange or store credit once we receive your return package. All gift returns receive store credit.

 

Product Exchanges – 365 Days

Returns that arrive after 90 days but before 365 days will be refunded to store credit, or are eligible for an exchange.

Product Refunds – 90 Days Refunds

If the return is received within 90 days of purchase, we’ll refund to whatever payment method you used.

 

Additional Information for Product Returns

If you purchased your Smashed Clay Co. product from one of our retail distributors, other website, or third party, please contact the company you purchased from directly to process a return or exchange.

Personalized items are final sale and are not eligible for return.

Subscription Boxes are prepared especially for you, so we’re not able to refund for boxes that are refused or marked as returned to sender. Any boxes that are marked as “return to sender” or “refused” are disposed of by USPS, and not sent back to Smashed Clay Co. If you no longer wish to receive subscription boxes, you can cancel future deliveries.
